Weekly Threats: Recommended New Releases For 11/10/17

Dan Terminus - Automated Refrains
Dan Terminus has been a major player in the 'dark synthwave' genre.  Along with Perturbator, GosT and Carpenter Brut, Terminus has been in the forefront of the movement.  His new album "Automated Refrains" follows  “The Wrath of Code" which was released two and a half years ago. According to Dan, in this album “Machines [are] left to their own device[s], gathering under the sun and singing words whose meaning they think they forgot. It is an album about machines and their life in a world they have no recollection of [them].”  You can order the CD on Blood Music's website or download it for FREE.

Eluvium - Shuffle Drones
William Cooper's experimental ambient project Eluvium has been in existence for nearly 15 years. Cooper has just released his ninth studio album as Eluvium, the 23-track "Shuffle Drones" which is released by his longtime record label home 'Temporary Residence Limited.'  Shuffle Drones has no true beginning or end, and “Each song flows seamlessly into the next, regardless of the order in which they are played.”  It is anywhere between 13 minutes and 13,000 hours long, depending on how (and how long) it is played.  The tracks are essentially vignettes of orchestral ambience that is designed to be played on shuffle.

Oddisee & Good Compny - Beneath the Surface
MC/Producer Oddisee hails from Washington DC and spent his childhood summers in Khartoum, Sudan where his parents are from, learning Arabic and swimming in the Nile. He's been a consistent force in independent Hip Hop for quite some time and over the years has started performing and recording with a live band called 'Good Compny.' This release is a live version of his album "The Iceberg" and was recorded during the massive international tour in support of the album. Having played close to 100 shows, Oddisee and his band have become a tight knit unit with 'Beneath the Surface' showcasing how solid their live shows can be.

Azizi Gibson - I'm Good On People [EP]
Rapper Azizi Gibson was born in Germany, raised in Singapore and Thailand, spend some time in Cambodia and Zaire, moved to Maryland in his early teens and is currently based in Los Angeles.  That is a pretty eclectic upbringing for anyone, let alone a rapper.  His new EP "I'm Good on People" is a follow-up to May’s 'Memoirs of the Reaper' mixtape.  What's found within is exactly what you would expect from an MC who has been on both Flying Lotus' label Brainfeeder AND Waka Flocka Flame’s 36BrickHouse agency.  'I'm Good on People' features production from frequent collaborator Kamandi as well as YG! Beatz and Millz Douglas.
