At just under 7 & 1/2 minutes long, Atochi's Iomante is a superblast of japanese avant-jazz/noisecore. The inevitable comparisons to Borbetomagus, Naked City etc. will come to mind simply because of the combination of grind-like aesthetic and squealing horns, but there is something decidedly more ‘whimsical’ about this release when compared to the output of those bands. It’d be interesting to see if this maniacal of an output would hold interest in longer releases, but for now you can revel in the noisy mess of this killer sub-10 minute opus. Out now for free download on the always awesome Grindcore Karaoke Bandcamp label.
