Update on Status of Japanese-based Bands

Japan is home to a ton of amazing bands, many of which as you may know are huge favorites here at Idol Threat. After hearing that High on Fire survived being in Tokyo during this tragedy (mere weeks after they survived being in Australia during their earthquake) I of course immediately thought of the safety of many of the bands that call Japan home. Some have already updated through Facebook that they are safe and sound, it's amazing how much social sites like Twitter and such can now provide news such as this instantly throughout the world.

I have scoured the internet looking for news from other bands like Boredoms, Boris, Acid Mothers Temple, Melt Banana, Ruins and more but have only been able to get confirmation from the following bands. If you have any news about the above listed bands or others please share them with us:

Coffins:
"As for the earthquake, we are safety. We had gathered for the practice. The earthquake came when we finished just practicing. So scary moment. Anyway we are ok."

Mono:
"Dear Friends,
We are all safe. But it was definitely one of the most powerful, longest earthquakes ever though. Many thanks for thinking of us during this crazy time.
MONO"

Kazuyuki Kishino (KK Null/Zeni Geva):
"I got the unexpected phone call on the train heading to San Sebastian this afternoon, which was from my wife Mikiko in Japan and told me about the earthquake. She and Maru chan are safe and fine and our house is OK. What a relief!! However, they are still having many aftershocks, I wish I could be with my family at a time like this." (KK Null is currently in Paris, France)

*Update via Temporary Residence Limited Records forum:
"By all accounts all TRL-related folks are safe and sound. Envy, MONO and Caroline appear to be accounted for. Apartments are wrecked and some folks are going to have to find new homes, but lives are spared and that's more than a lot of people can say, so we're counting our blessings."

  1. Thanks a lot for posting these. I would like to know what has happened to members of Corrupted and Limited Express (Has Gone?) amongst others.
