Black Sabbath-Black Sabbath

I started writing this post yesterday but it all got erased and I don't feel like trying to remember it all so ya'll get a shorter post (lucky you!)

Forty years ago on on Friday the 13th Black Sabbath released their eponymous debut album. It's considered by most to be the first Heavy Metal album, and no matter what arguments are made for other albums birthing Metal Sabbath has by far been the most influential. Practically all of Metal and it's subgenres can be traced back to Sabbath, and out of all the albums considered to be the first Metal album none can hold up as well to modern metal as Black Sabbath's self-titled does. It boasts one of the scariest (if not THE scariest) first tracks of all time and it was especially frightening to me when I first heard it since it reminded me of some personal experiences.

Enough has been said about this albums importance so no need for me to go on, you guys want free shit right? Cosmo Baker and company started "The Rub" deejay collective in NY in 2003 and has been runnin shit ever since. The "Sabbath in the Park" celebration has been going on for years and here I have a live mix of Sabbath Songs from Sabbath in the Park 3 done by said deejays. Enjoy today and celebrate the Sabbath:
