The Roche Limit is the minimum distance to which a large satellite can approach its primary body without being torn apart by tidal forces. It also happens to be the name of a popular Sci-fi Image comic about a colony of the same name: "...Roche Limit is a colony situated on the cusp of a mysterious energy anomaly, is a melting pot of crime and terrible secrets. When Bekkah Hudson goes missing, the search to find her will plunge her sister and a cadre of the colony's underworld figures into an odyssey that reveals a grim future for mankind." The series was created by illustrator Vic Malhotra and writer Michael Moreci who also created Burning Fields, Hoax Hunters and has also written Hack/Slash, Dawn of the Planet of Apes, and The Shadow.
Clandestiny is the second volume of the series and starts 75 years after the events that [*spoiler] left the Roche Limit colony in flames: "...When a crew of military and science personnel are sent to the forgotten and desolate planet on a mysterious expedition, they quickly learn its dark secrets—and that their mission is not what they thought it to be. With danger lurking all around, the crew members fight to find a way off the planet and resist the mysterious presence that haunts them all."
Image comics has graciously put the first issue of the new volume up for free download for a limited time, so act fast and pick up the rest of the series if you like what you read:
