New
Dark Horse Comics announced this past weekend at C2E2 that it will be publishing new comics of Geof Darrow's Shaolin Cowboy and the legendary Elfquest Series! The Matrix concept artist Geof Darrow originally released Shaolin Cowboy in 2004 on Burlyman Entertainment, with the seventh issue coming out in 2007. Shaolin Cowboy returns nearly six years later in a three issue monthly story arc with the second issue clocking in at a whopping 64 pages! The creator of "Hard Boiled" and "The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot" is one of the most detailed artists out there and the continuation of this series has been long overdue!
Elfquest was created by Wendy and Richard Pini over 35 years ago and has accumulated quite a cult following. The first issue of the new Elfquest will arrive this fall and will be the prologue to Elfquest: The Final Quest, which is currently being serialized on BoingBoing (FOR FREE!) Following that, Dark Horse will release The Final Quest alongside all-new editions of previously published material. Dark Horse also announced that they plan to publish comics based on the popular video game Halo and a new Hellboy original graphic novel. With these announcements, the absence of a DC booth and Dark Horse slashing the prices on everything in their booth to 50% off on the last day (with four for a $1 single comics!) this company may have just been the best booth at this year's C2E2!
