Winters in Osaka - Monuments Collapsing [Free Download]

Chicago noise collective Winters in Osaka has been been a staple in the US Noise scene since the early 2000's and is arguably the best noise group in the Midwest.  They are mostly based in Illinois, but also in California (and I believe even Canada) and share members with groups such as Hate Basement, Bongripper, Harpoon, Koufar and more.  Their roster in the past has even included Chicago noise-synth legend Jason Soliday and Greg Ratajczak of Plaguebringer at one point.

Starting out as a harsh noise supergroup WIO has since evolved into more of a harsh drone or self-described "Creep Ambient" sound which is utterly unique to the group. They have had splits and collaborations with a bunch of legends including Astro (Hiroshi Hasegawa of C.C.C.C.) GX Jupitter-Larsen of The Haters, Mark Solotroff of Bloodyminded, and Tetuzi Akiyama among others.  This latest release pairs the group with Agoraphobic Nosebleed member J. Randall and is being put out for free on his bandcamp label (and Idol Threat favorite) Grindcore Karaoke.  This collaboration is basically a J. Randall remix that is meant to be able to put the listener into a drug-free induced trance or high as long as all the right conditions are met.  Here's what they had to say about the remix:

"This remix contains binaural tones and carrier noise embedded in the audio that produce a psycho-active auditory event. This recording MUST be listened to in its entirety with headphones for the listener to experience the intended effects. Please disable any noise reduction settings on your stereo audio player as it will result in a significant reduction of the carrier noise contained in the recording necessary for the embedded binaural tones to work. While listening to this recording it is recommended that the listener be in a prone or reclined position with eyes covered or closed. The intensity of the experience and duration of its effects can differ from person to person. There is no guarantee it will work as intended for all listeners. For best results download in lossless FLAC format or the available 24-bit AIFF sound file..."

You can download the mini-album for free at the link below, and you'll also find a link to Winters in Osaka's main bandcamp page which contains more free downloads and samples.  Winters is also trying to raise money for a 2013 UK tour in support of their new LP split with Amps for Christ.  They only have 15 days left so head on to their Indiegogo page (linked below) to be able to pick up limited cassettes and CDs or donate to the cause.
