Common Confirms "Sweet" Was Originally a Drake Diss [Updated]

Everyone had their suspicions when this song first leaked and now it seems that during an interview with Shade 45's Sway in the Morning, Common confirmed that originally it was aimed at Drake. Chicago is killin it right now, I wonder how far this Drake Hate will go? Here's what Com had to say:

"Hey, he opened his mouth and said some things. So if he wants it, that’s what he wants, all that subliminal, you can do that too. But you might want to say that now," he said. "I mean, the verse is about me, but when you hear some stuff on the chorus, it’s like you can’t help but think about dude, and that’s what he felt. So at the end of the day, he fit in that category. He already embraced it, so wear it."

*Update – Apparently Drake’s Producer Noah Shebib aka 40 has some things to say on Twitter about Common in response to all this “Sweet” business. His Twitter moniker is @OVO40 and he claims he isn’t dissing but it’s pretty obvious that he’s taking shots at Com:

“I remember being called a bitch in grade 9 cause I had your cd. Good thing I also had 456 by kool g rap on me. Now that's real ;)”

“After "one day it'll all make sense" came out I spent months arguing weather or not @common was hip hop. Everyone was saying it was too rnb.”

“I'm not dissing, just facts. I love common. I also love swv and John b.”

C’mon son, are you serious? You callin Common too soft and RnB? The beats you make sound WAY more RnB than any of Common’s shit, and you talking about being hard and you’re using a wink emoticon? Unless you’re G’s wife you should NEVER use a wink emoticon and Kool G Rap’s name in the same sentence! I’m beginning to think that owning Common’s cd wasn’t the real reason you were called a bitch in 9th grade.
