What you just saw was the official video for the 36 second scorcher of a single entitled "Spot a Pathetic" off of Wormrot's new album DIRGE. Wormrot is the newest grindcore act to sign to legendary UK label Earache Records and they are one of the best grindcore bands to come out in a long time, which is saying alot considering the slew of generic grindcore acts that comes out on a monthly basis. The trio from Singapore is graciously offering their new album for free download, which may not come as a surprise considering the way they were signed (Earache label head Digby Pearson heard their debut after illegally downloading the album.) Dirge is due to be released on physical formats on May 3rd in North America and May 23rd in Europe. Check the official statement from Wormrot for the details:
"We realised that all you grinders were so excited for more 'Abuse' with DIRGE that it's leaked, so we said 'what the fuck, here it is' - for you free in MP3 format to download right now. Get a t-shirt while you're at it you fucking cheapskates! Nabey cheebai!"
The download is a 40MB ZIP file, containing all 25 tracks in 320kbps MP3 format. All tracks are DRM free.
DIRGE is available to pre-order now on CD, as well as limited edition colored vinyl LP featuring two bonus tracks.
The colored vinyl is available in the following quantities and colors:
100 - Black & White Splatter
200 - Yellow
300 - Red & White Splatter
300 - Red
600 - Black

DIRGE will also be available as a limited edition CD with a bonus DVD featuring an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album. A selection of new t-shirts is also available (and click the jump to see my shitty cellphone video of WORMROT performing in the basement of a Brazilian steakhouse in Indiana.)
