DC Comics Brightest Day Checklist

Nerd Alert! So with "Blackest Night" ending we knew the inevitable "Brightest Day" wouldn't be far behind. Blackest Night was my favorite crossover of the year and continued the brilliant cosmic scope of their previous crossover "Sinestro Wars." In short The Green Lantern Corps realized they weren't the only color coordinated corps in the cosmos, and the source of all the different corps is older than even our previous universe. The "death-powered" Zombie-like Black Corps have finally been vanquished and the White Corps of life has emerged bringing with them many resurrected heroes including JLA's own Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. Here is a checklist of what's to come (Deadboy's definitely not going to like this):

  1. man, cheap shot. i think i'm entitled to dislike blackest night, especially after the bullshit that the last couple of issues.

"Oh, neat, Sinistro is the white lante- Oh, right, it's Hal, right, of course, right."

"Oh, cool. Everyone's alive again, except for everyone who's died recently to boost sales and prove how edgy we are(arsenal's daughter, the dibnys, half of firestorm)."

also, you should read the loki one-shot from siege. so fucking good.

  2. Not a cheap shot at all, was just thinking about how much you hated Geoff Johns when I was writing that it was my favorite crossover. Merely an acknowledgement that I knew you would make some comment like “Oh, neat, Sinistro is the white lante- Oh, right, it's Hal, right, of course, right."

There was so many Siege one-shots I didn’t know what to pick up so I’ll be sure to check the Loki one out, plus is it me or is the newest issue of Siege late?

  3. Marvel hasn't done it for me for a couple years. It has something to do with the oversaturation of Deadpool (as I type this wearing a Deadpool shirt I got from C2E2). I love the character, but it's tough for writers to do slapstick comedy and make it consistently funny. Going to the well at least four times a month is a little overkill.

Met Geoff Johns a couple weeks ago, and got a chance to chat with him a little. He's cool as hell, and wants to do everything he can to make comics exciting while honoring the history that so many of us fanboys hold near and dear.

  4. ha-HA! Another Geoff fan! Marvel really hasn't been doing it for me either, the only good thing they've done lately is The Planet Hulk/World War Hulk storylines (not the current, drawn-out Red Hulk stuff) and all the cosmic stuff that DNA has been doing. Annihilation was awesome and set up a new cosmic world for the Marvel Universe, and his Nova and Guardians stuff has been dope too.

Wish I could've gone to C2E2, will have to settle for Wizard World this year
